Everyone is invited to attend Huntington Beach Church, but those who want to grow deeper in their faith and spiritual walk with Jesus are invited to join.
Below you can read through some of the essential commitments and privileges of our members.

OUR CHURCH COVENANT

Members of Huntington Beach Church are committed to taking responsibility for the church...
  1. by exalting the Savior by faithfully participating in our worship services, contributing monetarily on a regular basis to the support of the church, and living a godly life.
  2. by espousing the Christian doctrines as affirmed in our Doctrinal Statement.
  3. by elevating all things in prayer by praying for and with the church and for the lost.
  4. by evangelizing those who are lost by praying for them by name, inviting them to trust in Christ, and sharing the gospel and one’s testimony with them.
  5. by encouraging the church body through promoting unity and love among the members and offering to bear the cares and concerns of other members of the body.
  6. by edifying the body through discipleship by following the leaders of the church and being committed to ministries provided for spiritual growth and development.
  7. by equipping the saints for service by discovering and using my gifts, talents, and abilities with a servant’s heart for the work of the ministry.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT

This church glorifies God by loving Him and obeying His commands through:
  • Worshipping Jesus as God and Savior;
  • Equipping Christians through Bible instruction;
  • Proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ through preaching and personal evangelism, and any other means consistent with the teachings of Holy Scripture;
  • Administering the ordinances of baptism and communion;
  • Encouraging Christian fellowship among believers;
  • Encouraging, supporting, and participating in missions work, local, domestic, and international;
  • Serving individuals, families, our community, and other churches by providing for physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, in the name of Jesus Christ; a
  • Expanding the kingdom of God by planting churches that plant churches.

WE ARE A HEALTHY, ORGANIZED LOCAL CHURCH.

  Huntington Beach Church is an autonomous, pastor-led, congregational church. (Acts 6:3-6, Acts 13:1-3, Acts 14:23, Acts 20:28, Matthew 18:15-17, 1 Timothy 5:17, Hebrews 13:17, and I Peter 5:1-3)
  • “Autonomous” means that the church is not under the authority of any outside entity such as a denomination or ecclesiastical authority. The church partners with a denomination and networks with other churches and organizations but remains autonomous and free to follow the will of Jesus Christ alone.
  • “Congregational” means that the church membership has final authority on all church doctrine and business. According to the church bylaws, the membership appoints and removes pastors, amends the by-laws, approves the annual budget, and must approve all major purchases such a buildings or property.
  • Huntington Beach Church is led by teams of biblically qualified pastors and deacons. Their main functions include teaching and preaching the Scriptures and theology, overseeing the functions of the church including administration and ministries, caring for spiritual needs of the membership, and praying for the membership. The deacons serve as the primary staff of our church, helping the pastors and serving the congregation.

The mission of HBChurch is to reach people with the gospel, build them up as the church, and send them into the world. We exist to magnify the transforming power of the gospel in our members, neighbors, and our world, through vibrant local churches.
 
There are mutual spiritual benefits as the church family strengthens each member and each member strengthens the church family (Ephesians 4:15–16; Hebrews 13:17; 1 Thessalonians 5:12-13; 1 Timothy 5:17).

Church membership offers help, healing, and hope through a Christ-centered community.

Attenders go to our church. We love them and care for them. We welcome everyone to attend.
Members belong to our church. We love each other, care for each other, and serve the Lord together.
Members are a priority for our pastors (Acts 20:28; 1 Peter 5:2-3).
Members make their church as priority (Hebrews 13:17; 1 Thessalonians 5:12-13; 1 Timothy 5:17).
We ask six important questions to anyone who would like to join our church membership:
  1.  Do you believe that Jesus is your God and Savior?
  2.  Have you been baptized as a believer? If not, we would be honored to baptize you. (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:41,47)
  3.  Do you affirm our doctrinal statement, the Baptist Faith and Message 2000?
  4. Will you live according to our church covenant?
  5. Will you partner with us to accomplish our mission and vision?
  6. Do you have any questions about our Constitution and Bylaws?
