THOUGHTS ON THE HEART OF THE GOSPEL
BY PASTOR JASON ROBERTSON

The heart of the gospel was perfectly described by the Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 5:20-21, “Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”

I am forever amazed at the grace of God; He exchanged my sin for His righteousness to reconcile me to Himself.

This proves His infinite love for me. My sin was a betrayal of His image. My sin was an assault against His character. My sin was an infinite crime against His glory. I deserve eternal punishment and will never deserve to be reconciled to God. But God so loved me that upon the Cross He took upon Himself my guilt and has clothed me with His righteousness. I cannot express the fullness of my gratitude, so I am committed to worship and serve Him forever. And with that in mind, I am thankful for the ministry of Samuel Davis because he strives to keep the heart of the gospel always before me.
